Speaking of buffalo - one day Mom went into town to wash clothes and we stayed close to the campsite with Dad. There we were relaxing in the woods, listening to Dad noodling around on the guitar, when all of a sudden, about a hundred forest rangers came riding up on horseback, or maybe it was just two, whatever. They told us that we should get inside the trailer and stay there for awhile because a herd of buffalo might possibly be
Headless Ranger on Horseback rounding up buffalo
As it turned out, the buffalo took a different route and we didn't see them in our campsite. BUT, while this was going on here, Mom spotted another stray buffalo on the street corner next to a convenience store in town. At first she thought it was a statute - then it moved! The police came and rounded him up. Apparently, it's illegal for a buffalo to buy a lottery ticket in Yellowstone! She didn't get a picture 'cause she couldn't figure out how to use the camera on her phone which is weird 'cause she has opposable thumbs! But we're gonna go out on a limb and guess that he/she probably looked something like this -
Anyway, on to a more bucolic setting. Here are some elk soaking up some rays and having the good life.
That is quite a nice house they have!
We even spotted a bald eagle and her baby in their nest. How cool is that?

YIKES is right! We all hoping you survive the wild west and come home safely. Or move on to your next destintation. Wonder why the rangers didn't ask for your help in rounding up the buffalo? I'm sure they could have used an extra few paws.
Love the elk house, they look like they could use some company. Bet they would be fun to play with!
Cool picture of the Eagle. Thanks for sharing your road adventures. Have a safe ride.
Holy Cat Crap... You saw the HEADLESS RANGER??? I thought that was just a suburban myth!!! Did you get to sniff any buffalo poops??? That would be grrrreat.

Wow, that's pretty cool to see the eagle and baby! I have been told they sometimes snatch cats and little dogs so I think I will not get too close!
Thanks for your advice about listening to the Doggie Lama - of course, he is one of my all time favorite spiritual leaders! Oh and yes, I would love to take a road trip like you guys. I think Mama would gladly quit her job and hit the road, but Papa seems to enjoy his work for some reason!
Your pal, Pip
Very Beautiful Picture of Mommy Eagle and Baby!
The headless Ranger sounds alittle scary. Hope you guys are having a great road trip!
How cool! A Headless Horseman and a stampede of buffalo? You guys are living the life! I'm not sure I'd want a herd of Elk in my front yard. I suppose Morgan would enjoy herding them, though!

Great wildlife shots!
Wow. You guys are really having adventures like mad. You'll be able to write a book when you get done with this road trip. A buffalo on a street corner is something we'd all like to see, I think. Too bad about Mom not getting that photo.

That's quite an adventure you had. We have a herd of Buffalo as neighbors. They're pretty quiet, just stand around eating grass all day. There are three little babies in the herd. They're kind of cute.
Thanks for visiting everyone! There's some interesting stuff out here that we don't see everyday back home, that's for sure!
