Now, granted, Kayla is NOT pure Corgi, but there's no doubt that she's got a lot of short breeds mixed in there. We've identified a number of traits in her from various short breeds - she yodels like a doxie, she has bassett "ballerina" feet, definitely has corgi ears, perhaps even some beagle in there. Kayla likes to keep all four on the floor most of the time 'cause she's very protective of that incredibly long back. She started visiting the chiropractor vet when she was just a pup. BUT, if there is food just out of reach, she can stretch like rubberband. Just shows you what a bit of determination can do.
Here's the FULL KAYLA - she's about 34 inches from nose to base of tail.
She's only 13 inches at her shoulders or approximately the height of three large bags of dog food.
See my "ballerina" feet? This is "first" position.
See the similarity?
This "counter" is approximately 35" inches tall - that's almost 3 feet!
Hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do :)
This presentation was NOT staged just to torment poor little Kayla or make her do unnatural things with her back! Mom had bought a box of Milkbones to use as a background for a jewelry display photo shoot. She turned her back on the Milkbones and Kayla was all OVER them. Since the camera was handy, she got this pic.

Veru cute pictures!
Love the ballerina feet!
Ha Ha - love those ballerina feet:)
We have decided that counter surfing is not a good thing because Mom used to surprise us with "set" mousetraps up there. They never got us, but they sure are LOUD.
Now Phantom can do magical things with his long neck and get all the way down to the bottom of our very deep kitchen sink. The Momster has to be sure to keep it free of tossed food or he serves as the garbage disposal.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Those are the cutest ballerina feet ever!
Hugs,
So much for my thoughts that getting a small dog next time would prevent this problem...
Kayla is remarkably agile, like a little dancer. :-)
LOVE the ballerina reference! We always chuckle when Gus stands that way, but never thought about him looking like a ballerina. We're definitely using that from now on ;)
You have beauiful ballerina feet, and what you miss out on the leg, you gain on the body hey we all like to counter surf :)
See Yea George xxx

I has to hop ofur and ansser your kwestchuns afore I furgets them!
Yes, that be my furrend Smokey Bear in that one pikshure. We woz crossing the street from the pawking lot ofur to Ramapo Mountain State Forest in Noo Joisey,
Mom did make Lippe's no-huntin-me orange vest and hat. She paid 29 whole cents fur a piece of felt wot woz maded from recycled plastic bottles! The vest woz easy peasy to make. The hat, well, the furst prototype well, not so good. The baseball cap he had on woz a second vershun. Mom woz up pritty late werking on that, BOL! Then that bloo thing in his pawket was a trail map. He had the backpack and binoculars but he losted those. Mom had gotted some Barbie sporting goods stuff with hiking things in it fur Lippe on eBay fur almost nuttin. He is furry cheap to maintain.
Our Bassethounds were the biggest countersurfers. I think short dogs get the vertical height, but it's the stubby T-Rex arms that foil them.
Oh my mom person made a loud SQUEEE noise when she saw those little feetsies!
Nubbin wiggles,
