Our cuzzin'

*Note: Some of these pics might be too graphic for your humans!

This was our favorite set of pics - for obvious reasons :)  Check out our cuzzin' (and yours!) canis latrans aka coyote (that means "barking dog" in Latin - we didn't know that, did you?).  Anyway, watch this fierce hunter/huntress in action:

Stalking its prey:

Hmmm, what have we here?

Where'd you go, you little bugger?

Wait for it . . .

Gotcha!

Mom was totally grossed out by this, but we were kinda jealous.  We never get raw meat, except for the tiny bit on the meaty bones we get.  But that's hardly worth mentioning!  This guy scored!

And he's NOT sharing!

Gulp!  All gone!

I am almost a raw food eater at my house but nothing like what that lucky coyote is eating and I am very jealous about that! I don't know if mr parents would be too happy if I brought a dead chicken or squirrel in the house but I might try it and see what happens!

You are so lucky! We have plenty of coyote around us, but never have we managed to see one scoring a kill.

Hi Everybuddy,

I would like to eat red meat like that coyote but wouldn't want to have to hunt for my own food. I'd prolly starve! BOL

We haven't been commenting much but have been visiting. We loved the travel pictures you posted last time.

Wow, I has never seen a coyote in action! We hears them at my house at night sometimes, but that's about it. The only "raw meat" I gets is my frozen buffao bones.
Great pics.

I am wolf guy myself, but coyotes are cool too - though I hear they occasionally feast on little dogs. Think I will keep my distance.

I prefer it cooked. With a nice hollandaise sauce, preferably. But to each his own, I always say. Great photos, though. Very much "raw" nature. Hee hee.

He sure was quick, I could have done with him to help me catch some of the rabbits I've been surrounded by in the last week! I could have tried some raw meat.

I love seeing all the photos, nature, and animals from your journey. We don't get to see much of that out here in Chicago, although I have seen more than more fair share of football sized rats.
