Peeps on Parade

Hey!  We're marching in SARGE'S PEEPS ON PARADE this Memorial Day Weekend.  And 'cause we love our peeps so much, we're gonna spend the whole post telling you about them.  Be warned, though, they are not nearly as exciting and fun as us.  We've tried to put lots of pics to keep you from falling asleep.

Dad is a fun (and funny) guy.  Things are more exciting when he's around.  He's worked in construction for lots and lots of years.

He wears one of these
BUT

These are his tools

NOT these

He's more of a project manager and makes sure the wooden things get put together right.  He still gets to use HBO words, just not while holding a hammer.  Dad actually likes to build things, but just for the family.

He put this together all by himself

Ha Ha.  Just kidding!  But he did make sure some of the woodwork inside that building got put together right.

Like this - Vegas, baby!

Some of Dad's favorite things to do:

Traveling with us, especially in the mountains!

Playing fetch with us!

Hmmmm, an interesting serious thing about Dad.  That’s kinda hard ‘cause Dad’s a pretty funny guy.  But, we guess this could be serious – many years ago Dad trained for Search & Rescue with our brother Jake and Gracie.

Now, something funny about Dad - well, there's lots of stuff, but most of it we can't really share here.  But here's something we can share - he's really good at imitating Carl from Sling Blade - you know, "I'd like me some more of them french-fried taters, um hm."  this cracks Mom up!

Okay, now for Mom.  Mom loves to make stuff and learn new stuff and has a short attention span.  She's had lots of jobs over the years and then found metalworking and she's been in love ever since.  She loves melting, hammering and sawing metal to make jewelry. It's one of her favorite ways to relax, too.

Mom at work

And, of course, she loves hanging out with us.  She also loves movies, especially romantic comedies.  If there's a dog or a horse init, that's even better - Must Love Dogs is one of her faves.

She hates to cook and is not sure what this is or how to work it.

She loves the mountains but hates snow.  A tropical island with mountains would be her ideal place.  Um, as long as there was a restaurant close by, preferably Mexican or Italian.

We think we could dig that, too!

See, even when we embellish, our peeps aren't very exciting!

PeeS - If anybody talks to Sarge, tell him our Peeps Post is up. Blogger still won't let us comment on his blog. We'll be away from the computer tomorrow, so we'll catch up with everybody next week. Have a great holiday weekend!

Wow, your P.O.P. post is super!! I think your hu-pack is wonderful. A sense of humor is an important thing in life, building things is certainly more productive than tearing them down and playing music is a great pasttime. I bet your mom makes amazing jewelry. My mom is going all squeeeeeeee because she is crazy about metal jewelry. Our peeps have lots in common...Mom hates snow but loves sweet movies too! That's really pawesome. I think you have a great pack and you are lucky to all have each other. Thanks for pawticipating and sharing the really-cool pix of your peeps. You guys are the greatest furiends.

BOL! You mom sounds a lot like my mom! She doesn't really know how to use a stove or follow a recipe! She has also had lots of jobs (and has disliked most of them). She is trying to figure out how she can stay home and make stuff all day or photoshop silly pictures of dogs and cats all day! Though please don't give her any ideas about trying metalworking because she is very accident prone and might burn the house down!

Papa on the other hand knows absolutely nothing about building things. He once built a cat tree for our cats, but he made the perch so small that none of our cats could actually use it. This is a bit of a sore subject so don't mention it!

Your pal, Pip

I was wondering if you really did have peeps in your life because we've never seen hide nor hair of them until now!
I gotta tell ya that your dad is waaaay cool to know how to impersonate the Sling Blade guy because I am a huge fan of that accent! Um hum!
And your mom is just my type because I don't know what that white contraption with the black round things is for either. What are we women supposed to do with that thing anyway?
Well, you made me laugh tonight and I needed it...um hum!
P.S. If you like writing CAP-TIONS and you like gerbils who wear hats then you have to go to my SILLY SATURDAY PHOTO CAPTION CONTEST by noon tomorrow. Just sayin!

We have been having trouble tonight leaving comments, so hopefully this one will post.

We loved reading about your peeps, and we think they are both very interesting. We love that your dad does such cool work. Maybe your Mom is smart not knowing how to use the cooking machine - do you have your own personal chef? BOL. Just kidding, our Mom loves to cook but she wishes Dad were more open to trying new things:(

Have a great time this weekend.

I love reading more about you guys. One thing I wish I was able to do is 'make' anything. I have a lot of ideas, but when it comes to executing them I never can do it right. Metalworking sounds so cool! And of course, we love hearing about your road travels.
