For the Pitties

Pittie Painting by Artsy Bullies

This isn't the post we had planned today.  In fact, we were just going to sit back and relax and eat Cheetos and drink Kool-Aid after that exciting race between Pip and Bunny!  We're a little tired from all that cheering!

But, after learning of some recent events, we decided that today's post should go out to the Pitties!  Many of you may have heard or read the horrifying story of the pittie who was hanged and burned by a Spartanburg, SC (insert appropriate adjective) woman.  We are ashamed she lives in SC!  If you haven't read about it, here are a couple of links to the story:   Huffington Post Article            (SC) Post and Courier Article

Also, here are a couple of links to online petitions calling for the maximum punishment for this killer.  It's the least we can do for this poor dog.  And, unfortunately, right now it's the only thing, too.

It makes us so sad that it's too late to save this dog whose name we don't even know BUT, we were visiting Mr. B and Miss M over at their Two Pitties in the City blog and read about Shy - another pittie who is in desperate need of help.  So, we thought:  What better way to honor a pittie that we cannot help than to try to put the word out about one that we CAN.  If you haven't read about Shy, go visit the Two Pitties blog and have a look at this pretty girl.

Now, we know that everyone's got their hands full and their pockets nearly empty these days, but if Shy's story strikes a chord with you and you happen to have a couple bucks in your donation jar, maybe you would consider sending it her way.  All the details are over at Two Pitties.

We're sure Shy would appreciate it if you could spread the word to other dog lovers.  You never know who might be willing to lend a paw or help her find a furever home.

Now we're off to the Saturday Blog Hop!

That woman definitely has more than a few screws loose! I don't know how they will punish her for this horrible act, she obviously is not of rational mind.

Well this just made our skin crawl. We're trying to contact Shy's owner to feature her/him? on PBU.

Nice post about horrible, horrible things.

Gosh, this is just sickening. What is wrong with people? I hope she gets the full five years. Mom signed the petition. We also read about Shy and are going to send a donation to help with her surgery.

Your pal, Pip

That woman sounds mentally ill to me! What on Earth is wrong with people?

We read about Shy yesterday and sent her a few green papers. We posted the link on our Facebook page, too! We really hope Shy finds a great home!

I didn't know about the poor Pibble. How can someone do that! The story made me tear up. I just don't understand how someone can so savagely kill an innocent animal. That woman thinks the dog had the devil in her? Ha! I say the woman who killed the Pibble has the devil in her. Oh my gosh! My cat shredded my Bible with her claws does that mean she is a devil cat? Of course not! Animals have never sinned against God. Humans have.

I am so sorry that this happened. But you are right. Let us honor The Poor Pibble who died by helping another. Thanks for sharing.
